2011 Research Paper Presentation

The Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOSH-CHD) in cooperation with the Central Visayas Consortium for Health Research and Development (CV-CHRD) held the 2011 Research Paper Presentation at the DOH-CHD Narra Room, on November 23-24.

Presented were pre-screened papers from the Students Category and the Facukty/Residents Category at 1:30-5:00PM on November 23 and 24 respectively. Adjudged as the best papers from the Students Category were:

3rd Prize -             The Risk of Bacterial Exposure from Internet Café Usage,
Siliman University (P3,000.00)

2nd Prize -            Knowledge Attitudes, Practices Regarding Sexuality Among
Selected 4th Year High School Students in Cebu City,
Cebu Doctor’s University (P4,000.00)

1st Prize -             Effectiveness of Euphorbia Hirta in the Control of Heparin-
Induced Thromboytopenia
Holy Name University (P6,000.00)

Faculty/Residents:

3rd Prize -             Medication Errors in Pediatric Patients Admitted in a Private
Tertiary Hospital I Cebu Vity: A 6-Year retrospective Review,
Cebu Doctor’s University Hospital (P3,000.00)

2nd Prize -            Global Voronoi Mapping of HIV Patients
Cebu Normal University (P4,000.00)

1st Prize -             Awareness and Knowledge of Pediatricians in Cebu City of the
National Tuberculosis Control Program in the Management of
Tuberculosis in Children
Chong Hua Hospital (P6,000.00)

The cash prizes were handed by Rev. Fr. Theodore D. Murnane, SVD, USC and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Central Visayas Consortium for Health Research and Development.

The DOH-CHD announced that the winning papers would be entered in the national contest to be held sometime next year.
