The National Academy of Science and technology (NAST) of the Department of Science and Technology, as the highest recognition body on science and technology in the country opens its search for possible nominees across the country on the LELEDFI AWARD for Outstanding Research in Tropical Medicine.
The award aims to:
- Honor outstanding research contributions in the field of Tropical Medicine
- Recognize the role of scientific research in the country’s development
The NAST-LELEDFI Award is intended to recognize outstanding research works that contribute to the advancement of the country’s knowledge and practice in Tropical Medicine.
Deadline for submission of nominations is on the last working day of November each year.

The Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOSH-CHD) in cooperation with the Central Visayas Consortium for Health Research and Development (CV-CHRD) held the 2011 Research Paper Presentation at the DOH-CHD Narra Room, on November 23-24.
Presented were pre-screened papers from the Students Category and the Facukty/Residents Category at 1:30-5:00PM on November 23 and 24 respectively. Adjudged as the best papers from the Students Category were:

The cash prizes were handed by Rev. Fr. Theodore D. Murnane, SVD, USC and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Central Visayas Consortium for Health Research and Development.
The DOH-CHD announced that the winning papers would be entered in the national contest to be held sometime next year.
